Tatton Park Biennal has the theme Flights of Fancy with artists looking at the precarious nature of the human urge to fly. This is keenly felt with Tatton's location under the flight path of Manchester Airport: the tranquility of the parkland, lakes and roaming deer often disturbed by the overhead rumble of a Jumbo jet on take off. We particularly liked the dreamlike Pont de Singe by Oliver Grossetete, an improbably rickety bridge suspended by helium filled balloons across the lake in the Japanese Gardens.
