Suffragette City: redressing the balance?

I'll be showing some new paintings in this group exhibition by the women artists at the Electric Picture House Artist's Co-operative, along side Di Harding, Petra Lea, Liz Mylonakis and Sharon Quinn. It is a hundred years since the Suffragettes marched in London so we are doing our bit to redress the balance of the under representation of women in galleries and museums.
We have let a man design our poster though! Thanks to Ian Turnock at Studio Latitude.

Duckett & Jeffreys: bringing art home

We went to see Stef and Ian of Duckett & Jeffreys Gallery this weekend as they celebrate 4 years of D&J with a new venture:  the development of a nomadic, multi space gallery with the aim of reaching an even wider audience, taking Duckett and Jeffreys into towns, cities and rural locations. A range of spaces are to be used to exhibit from within Yorkshire including Ian and Stef’s studio bases at Sledmere and Staithes. Exhibitions will also be toured further afield in Duckett and Jeffreys 1960’s vintage Sprite Touring Caravan Gallery. The first solo show at their home and studio in Sledmere, North Yorkshire sees the return of Sally Taylor, with 'Confused Heads'. There is also a carefully curated mix of other artists including Mp LandisOlivia Jeffries and I'm pleased to say some of my work. Showing art in a domestic setting has a lovely relaxed feel with a sense of discovery in each room rather it being presented to you in a formal gallery setting.

They will also be showing work by Andy Black, Andrew Tyzack, Stef and Ian Mitchell.
