We recently completed a commission to create an edition of 52 wall sculptures for the luxury Alpina Hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland, which opened last week. The sculptures from the 'Above us the Trees' series were made in steel which we rusted, then waxed and burnished.

From metal to concrete
Making the concrete base for the new figure sculptures led to the experimental concrete casting of these building forms displayed at the Industrial exhibition at the studios.
The construction/assemblage theme continued with these paintings which I framed in some reclaimed mahogany.

Caro at Chatsworth
A trip to a very busy Chatsworth in Derbyshire to see the exhibition of works by Sir Anthony Caro. Interesting to look at them from a practical point of view! Up close the pieces show all their methods of construction: unfinished welds, rough cut edges and heavy bolts as well as the effects of time and handling.

Tatton Park Biennial 2012
This years Tatton Park Biennal has the theme Flights of Fancy with artists looking at the precarious nature of the human urge to fly. This is keenly felt with Tatton's location under the flight path of Manchester Airport: the tranquility of the parkland, lakes and roaming deer often disturbed by the overhead rumble of a Jumbo jet on take off. We particularly liked the dreamlike Pont de Singe by Oliver Grossetete, an improbably rickety bridge suspended by helium filled balloons across the lake in the Japanese Gardens.

Buying art online
Our very own 'shops' are now live online. We have exhibited in galleries all over the country for a while now but we thought we'd also try our own online gallery where people can easily buy work direct. Of course if you want to see the work first you can see it in the studio at the Electric Picture House Artists Co-operative (please call or email first)
